Hey there, sweet mama friend.

When your child misbehaves, your first instinct may be to correct them immediately.

But sometimes, before children can hear what we’re teaching, they need to know we’re listening, too.

That’s where connection comes before correction.

Now, Scripture clearly teaches us to guide our children toward what’s right. But how we respond matters.

When your child is yelling or throwing things, reacting in anger only adds to the chaos.

Instead, calmly say, “I see you’re upset. I’m here to help, but I won’t let you throw things.”

You’re acknowledging their feelings while holding a boundary.

Ephesians 4:2 reminds us to be “humble and gentle” and patient with one another.

Once your child is calm, you can teach a better response.

Mama, connection doesn’t replace correction. It makes correction more effective.

Thanks for spending this minute with me.

✨Carry this with you today…

Connection strengthens the relationship, making correction easier to receive.
